Brendan Martin is a Mullingar poet and writer from Ginnell Terrace whose work reflects on nature, childhood, life, love, relationships and loss. He worked in Dublin for almost thirty years before returning to his hometown in 2003 with his wife Monica and their family.
Brendan has been writing since the early 1970s and has built up a rich body of poems and reflections over many decades.
Encouraged by Monica to share his writing more widely, he recently published his first poetry collection, Wanderling, a small but heartfelt gathering of work shaped by memory, observation and lived experience.
Brendan is a member of Inklings Writers Group in Mullingar and is a regular contributor to the Inklings column in the Westmeath Examiner.
His writing carries a quiet honesty and warmth, rooted in family, place and the emotional landscapes of everyday life.
