About this Workshop...
Have you ever wanted to write your own stories or poems? Do you find yourself scribbling ideas at home as your imagination runs free? Perhaps you have always had characters, memories, images or lines of poetry in your head, but have never quite known what to do with them.
Join Brian McLoughlin and members of Inklings Writing Group for a welcoming Creative Writing Taster Session at Mullingar Literary Festival 2026. This relaxed, interactive workshop is designed for anyone curious about writing, whether you are a complete beginner, a quiet scribbler, or someone who has been writing privately for years but has never shared their work.
You will get a friendly taste of how an Inklings session runs, with fun creative exercises, gentle encouragement and space to explore your ideas. No experience is needed, just curiosity, imagination and a willingness to give writing a try.
