Sean Ruane is a poet from County Meath whose writing reflects a strong literary sensibility and a distinctive engagement with voice, place and performance.
Before turning more fully to poetry, his first short story was published by David Marcus in the Phoenix Irish Short Stories series for Orion Press, marking an early recognition of his talent as a writer.
Sean has since developed his work across poetry, live reading and film, bringing his poems to audiences in different forms.
He has read at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and filmed versions of his poems Regalia, The Cattle Grid and Yorkshiresque can be viewed on YouTube.
Moving between page, stage and screen, Sean’s work demonstrates a thoughtful command of language and atmosphere, shaped by an interest in memory, landscape and the spoken word.
