Anthony Viney is an Ireland-based writer whose varied career has taken him through the defence industry, the BBC, teaching, work with the Traveller community in London and, from the early 1990s, social work in Northern Ireland.
He has published academic papers and texts and is also a regular contributor to his local newspaper.
Now retired, Anthony remains an avid swimmer and kayaker and enjoys life with his wife, Kathy, and their American Akita.
His debut novel, On the Road to Damascus, reflects both his love of thrillers and his real-life experience travelling independently through Syria in 2011.
Drawing on a lifetime of professional, social and international experience, Anthony brings curiosity, insight and authenticity to his writing, creating fiction shaped by lived experience, moral tension and a strong sense of place.
