Mullingar Literary Festival 2026 Launches on Culture Night
The Mullingar Literary Festival is delighted to announce the launch of its 2026 programme on Culture Night, Friday 19th September 2025, at 7pm in Caffrey’s Bar, Mount Street, Mullingar.
This exciting evening will feature a special performance by the Inklings Creative Writing Group & Friends, who will present a series of original works inspired by some of the world’s most famous paintings. The performance promises to blend literature and visual art in a unique and captivating way, offering audiences a fresh take on storytelling and interpretation.
Festival Chair, Laurence Meehan, said:

The Homecoming theme to next years festival is designed to celebrate all of the famous poets, singers, actors, playrights and artists to herald from Mullingar.
However, MLF 26 will also feature International acts from countries around Europe as well as acts from all over Ireland – with some very exciting performances in the pipeline.
The Mullingar Literary Festival 2026, set to take place Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th of July 2026, will celebrate literature, creativity, and culture with an exciting programme of events, workshops, readings, competitions and performances.
The launch event on Culture Night marks the first step in a year-long journey of literary exploration and community engagement.
