Profile

Barry Currivan is a Dublin-based spoken word artist and poet from Inchicore, known for his humorous, mischievous and sharply observational style.

His collection if not If, what? captures overlooked moments of everyday life as lively “postcards in verse form,” blending wit, rhythm, warmth and audience connection.

Phil Lynch is a Dublin-based poet, writer and spoken word performer originally from Westmeath.

His collections include In a Changing Light and Moving On, and his work has appeared widely in journals, anthologies and broadcasts. A regular performer in Ireland and abroad, he co-founded Lingo and co-hosts Words by the Sea.

Darragh Coady is an Irish poet and spoken word performer whose work combines lyrical intensity, sharp observation and live performance energy.

Encouraged by John Cooper Clarke, he began performing publicly around 2022. His debut collection, Menageries, explores memory, identity, history and contemporary life.

The Verse Men brings together Barry Currivan, Phil Lynch and Darragh Coady for a dynamic spoken word and poetry performance full of wit, rhythm and reflection.

Each poet brings a distinctive voice to the stage, from Barry’s mischievous observations of everyday life to Phil’s lyrical reflections on memory, family and time, and Daragh’s sharp, energetic explorations of identity, history and contemporary experience.

Together, they offer an engaging hour of language, humour, feeling and performance, celebrating the power of poetry to entertain, challenge and connect with audiences in the moment.
