Nicole Flattery

Originally from Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, Nicole Flattery has quickly established herself as one of Ireland’s most compelling contemporary writers. Her award-winning short story collection Show Them a Good Time earned widespread critical acclaim, securing the An Post Irish Book Award, the Kate O’Brien Prize, and the White Review Short Story Prize.

A graduate of Trinity College’s renowned creative writing programme, Nicole’s work has appeared in The Stinging Fly, The Guardian, and the London Review of Books. Her debut novel, Nothing Special, set in 1960s New York, explores themes of friendship, fame, and identity with wit, insight, and emotional depth.
