Profile

Sinéad O’Hart is an award-winning children’s author whose books are loved by young readers for their imagination, adventure and richly created worlds.

She is the author of The Eye of the North, The Star-Spun Web, Skyborn, The Time Tider, The Silver Road and Sword of the Sun, all written for readers aged 8+.

She is also the author of the Lola and Larch series for younger readers aged 6+.

Sinéad has been shortlisted for both the CBI Book of the Year and the An Post Book of the Year, and won the European Science Fiction Society’s Chrysalis Award in 2018.

Her work celebrates curiosity, courage, myth, magic and storytelling, inspiring children to imagine boldly, ask questions and discover the joy of reading.

Join award-winning children’s author Sinéad O’Hart for Making Mythology, a lively and imaginative workshop exploring myth, legend and storytelling.

Young participants will discover famous figures from world mythology, from Zeus, Thor and Loki to Irish legends such as The Mórrigan and Lugh Lamfhada.

Sinéad will guide children through what myths are, why they have lasted for thousands of years, and how they continue to inspire stories today.

Through fun discussion and creative exercises, participants will create their own mythological character or enchanted object, making this a perfect workshop for curious readers, young writers and fantasy fans.
