In July 2025, the inaugural Mullingar Literary Festival brought writers, poets, historians, and musicians together for three remarkable days of storytelling and connection.

Over 1,000 attendees gathered across Mullingar — from the warm surroundings of Caffrey’s Bar to the historic Greville Arms Hotel and Mullingar Library — to share ideas, laughter, and a few well-earned pints.

What began as a local celebration has already become a highlight of Ireland’s literary calendar — and 2026 promises to be even bigger.
