Inklings Creative Writing Group: A Community of Passionate Writers
The Inklings Creative Writing Group, fondly known as Inklings, was established in September 2016 in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. Since its inception, the group has grown to 20 members as of 2024, with 8 members having published or currently writing novels and poetry collections. The group’s mission is to create a fun and supportive environment for writers of all levels, from beginners to seasoned authors.
Inklings meets every Tuesday at 11 am at the Annebrook House Hotel on Austin Friars Street, Mullingar. These meetings are a space for members to share their work, receive feedback, and inspire each other. The group’s vibrant and inclusive atmosphere caters to all writing abilities, fostering a love for writing and creativity.
The Inklings Creative Writing Group also maintains a weekly column in The Westmeath Examiner, showcasing the diverse talents and voices of its members. Through this platform, they share their stories, poems, and insights with a broader audience, contributing to the local literary community.
